Las Vegas // October 2016
I know this website is for my own photography but I thought it was the best place to share pictures from our wedding in Las Vegas. Stu & I had never been to Las Vegas, but thought getting married there was a good excuse to have an American road trip at the same time. (I also felt a traditional wedding in NZ wouldn’t be relaxing as my usual role as a wedding photographer would leave no mystery or surprises to what’s going on behind the scenes.)
Amazingly, family and friends were keen to join us and we had 40 guests from New Zealand, Australia, Seattle, San Francisco, Montana, Massachusetts, New York and Toronto (and multitudes of livestream viewers!)
The whole experience was the best and sooo easy – we spent most of our time in ‘old’ Vegas, which was incredibly charming. The people were so lovely, the food delicious and cruising around with a large group of people was a piece of cake.
These photos are taken by Lucinda McConnon, who went well beyond our brief of ‘we just want one nice photo’, the ceremony and chapel photos are by Kalin from the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel (a few of Luci’s are in there too) and the rest are by the dearest Kerri Strothard who got all of the extras as well as polaroids.
We had the Pink Caddy package at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, had a margarita cocktail hour and a beautiful meal at La Comida, drinks at Atomic Liquors and of course, late night karaoke at GoGo. My hair and makeup was by the wonderful Kristina Kupcake at Heads Will Roll Salon, my dress is from the old Modern Miss in Dunedin and Stu’s suit was from TopShop.
